Mike was traveling for his company in Germany and Switzerland last weekend, and I was away, so Taylor was excited to be spending the weekend by herself. Unfortunately, an exciting weekend turned out to be SUPER boring, so on Monday she asked me to make an appointment to get her drivers license.
Thursday was the day and she was really excited.
I'm not sure if she was more excited to actually get her license or to have Aunt Keri stop giving her a hard time about not having it...
Of course, what is any Red Letter Day, without a camera to document it..
Here we are at the DMV office. I had to bring half a dozen documents to prove Taylor was who she said she was. Might have been nice if they had told me to bring the other two I needed, so I didn't have to hunt in my car for them - much to Taylor's embarrassment!
Going out to the car to wait for the tester..
Oh geez... is that him?! He doesn't look friendly at all.... And notice the open car door to his left... Taylor said she was horrified to see the kid in the drivers seat with tears running down his face. Clearly not a good test for him.. Oh Great! Just a little more stress for the day...
YEAH!! Passed with flying colors - we are waiting to get her picture taken for the license. She's texting her friends the good news. And posting on Twitter - "Got my license!!! #Success. You can't buy happiness, but if you could, it would be $45" That was the cost of her license :)
Just 10 points off - all in all, pretty good!
Waiting to get her picture taken
Done! License in hand, and ready to take on the world! - Note the lucky t-shirt. That must have tipped the scale for sure...
Heading to work - for the first time driving by herself!
